UPDATE: JAROMIR JAGR SKATED THIS MORNING AND IS EXPECTED TO PLAY TONIGHT
SUNRISE–An anticipated tough night for the Florida Panthers turned into an embarrassing one for the visiting Chicago Blackhawks as the Cats shredded two goalies over the final two periods to claim a 7-0 victory, the Panthers largest shutout at home in team history! Jonathon Marchessault’s hat trick paved the way for the easy victory as the Panthers finished the three game homestand with two straight wins.
The only bad news from Saturday’s game was Jaromir Jagr was checked into the boards and may have hurt his hip. He was treated on the bench and played only one more shift before leaving the player’s bench for the rest of the evening. Jagr’s status for the Panther’s game in Buffalo Monday night was unknown at press time. Jagr has played in all 74 Panthers games to date and as the games playing legend takes great pride in being able to play when fans from the US, Canada and his homeland of the Czech Republic come to see him play.

Jagr’s early departure meant no Jagr highights from that game, but we excavated some from the past.
A Jagr team playing Chicago gives me a chance to inlcude this clip of the amazing goal the second year wing scored against the Blackhawks in Game 1 of the 1992 Finals. After battling back from a 3-0 deficit, the Penguins were down 4-3 with about five minutes left in the game and trying for an equalizer against a top defensive team on a record 11-game playoff winning streak. I can still see this play like it was yesterday.
When the Panthers played in Chicago earlier this season, the Panthers lost the game, but Jagr scored a goal for the Cats.

I really think the Panthers should rest Jagr tonight. It’s only a minor problem but the man is 45 years old and he is a part of this team’s future plans for at least another year or two most likely. They made a huge mistake dressing Ekblad on Tuesday night and now look. Poor number 5 is missing the trip. I thought that Rowe would’ve learned his lesson by now. Jagr is older and that means more prone to injuries. If he reaggrvates this injury it could mean the end of the great 68’s career. Also, Huberdeau and Barkov did just fine without him on Saturday.
sorry for late approval of your message. Jagr did play that game and participated in all 82 games. has only missed eight games in last four seasons. Let’s hope he gets to continue in the NHL.
I know. Back in March I said they should have rested him
