SUNRISE–The Panthers hope to have more nights like Thursday night’s 6-2 win over the Ottawa Senators at BB&T Center. Vincent Trocheck had one goal and three assists while Jaromir Jagr had two goals (#22 and 23) and lost a tooth (his fifth of the season, all due to errant Senators sticks).
Aaron Ekblad, Jonathon Huberdeau and Jussi Jokinen also scored for the Panthers while Zack Smith and Eric Karllson scored for the Senators. Highlights of the game from NHL.com can be seen here…

The updated Jagr-O-Meter…
When the Florida Panthers reeled off a 12-game winning streak earlier in the season, nearly the whole team was healthy and playing in sync. As the injuries have healed, the cohesiveness of the team has also found its form, and just in time. With 15 games remaining in the regular season, the Atlantic Division is up for grabs with first-place Boston (84 points) holding a one-point lead over Tampa Bay and Florida (83 points).
A group of about 25 Czechs wearing national team “68” jerseyswere sitting together and thrilled to see their national hero score two goals at Thursdays game. They will also be in attendance for Saturday’s game with Philadelphia at BB&T Center. In addition to Florida’s Jagr, Jiri Hudler and Jakub Kindl, they will get to see Jakub Voracek of the Philadelphia Flyers. Jagr and Voracek played together for the Flyers when #68 came back from the KHL. Europeans love to visit Florida for vacation and those that are hockey fans get to see the NHL when the Panthers are playing at home. Creates for an interesting blend of jerseys and accents at the BB&T Center. Tickets for that and remaining Panthers home games can be secured at panthers.nhl.com.
George Richards of the Miami Herald wrote about the game…
Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel was also in attendance and filed this story…
