SUNRISE–The Florida Panthers hoped to win their third straight game at home following road wins in New Jersey and Brooklyn, but came up well short in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders Friday night at BB&T Center.
John Taveras scored an empty net goal to complete his sixth career hat trick as the Isles evened the score for Wednesday night’s win by the Cats over New York at the Barclay’s Center.

Jagr assist is career point 1894
Jaromir Jagr had an assist on Vincent’s Trocheck’s goal to trim an early Islanders lead to a 2-1 defecit. It was jagr’s 1894th carer poitn and assist 19 on the season and 1138 for his career.
