SUNRISE–Proven vets throughout the lineup helped the Boston Bruins defeat the Florida Panthers Friday night at BB&T Center. Lots of “ooing” in this one as a bi-partisan crowd cheered outstanding saves by Boston’s Tuuuuuuka Rask and Florida’s Robert Luuuuuuuongo. Rask stopped all but one of the Panthers 30 plus shots while the Bruins had a goal from Zdeno Chara and a two-goal night from Brad Marchand.
The Panthers were playing without leading scorers Jaromir Jagr (groin) and Aleksander Barkov (hand) and their record is now 5-4-1. Their homestand ends tonight against the Capitals. With no morning skate Jagr’s status will not be known until closer to game time. Next week the Panthers go out west for games with Anaheim, San Jose and Los Angeles.
