ST. LOUIS–Brandon Pirri’s breakaway goal broke a scoreless tie in the second period and Derek MacKenzie scored two goals as the Florida Panthers defeated the St. Louis Blues. The first of MacKenzie’s goals came 13 seconds after Pirri’s icebreaker in a game that was very defensive up to that point. Roberto Luongo stopped 28 of 29 shots including 17 in the third period when St. Louis tried to tie the game. With their third straight win Florida (11-9-4-26) jumped over idle Tampa Bay in the Atlantic Division standings for fifth place, only five points behind second place Detroit in a tightly-bunched grouping.

Jaromir Jagr was held without a point for the second straight game but was strong on the puck and able to keep the Blues chasing him and other Panthers in the St. Louis defensive zone.
The Panthers play at Nashville Thursday and Columbus Friday before closing out their five-game road trip Sunday at New Jersey.
Voting for the NHL All Star game has started and Jaromir Jagr was doing well in voting for Atlantic division players.
Use or register at nhl.com and follow the links to vote. At this point fans are asked to pick the captains for the four divisions. The link is here:

Unlike a real election, at least in most jurisdictions, voters are permitted 10 ballots per day. Quite a few people are promoting the Jagr for all star campaign on twitter with stuff like @68Jagr #NHL #NHLAllStar #JaromirJagr #Jagr #NHLAllStarGame #VoteJagr #Vote #ASG.
Review of Sportsnet.ca article on Jaromir Jagr (We love it!)
This article created quite a buzz on twitter last week, at least by the people promoting it and they were not overstating their case. Sportsnet.ca and author Kristina Rutherford scored with this delicious article, serving up nuggets of perspective from friends, coaches, former teammates and even some thoughts from Jagr himself. You feel like you are in a room with all these recognizable faces and as the story moves along, they all chime in with their thoughts as the topics ranged from his childhood to today. This isn’t your typical Jagr’s-coming-to-town-to-play-you-team article and you’ll see in-depth thoughts rarely revealed before now, and never in one place.
Do a web search for sportsnet and keep clicking until you get it downloaded to your phone.
We’ve written to Sportsnet and hope to get at least a house copy as well as possibly other copies for sale at cost to readers of jagrometer.com.

That’s a lot to digest. Next update after Thursday’s game with Nashville unless breaking news demands otherwise.

Clad in different Jagr jerseys and hair styles from 68’s career, they gained league-wide recognition when they caught Jagr’s attention during a pre-game skate of a Dallas Stars game in Canada during the 2012-2013 season. Since then, they convene at games in Western Canada and make a road trip or two every year, playing street hockey with locals, posing for hundreds of pictures, and having a good time with fans while honoring an all-time NHL legend.
