BUFFALO–Five different goal scorers saw the Florida Panthers win their 10th straight game in a 5-1 win Tuesday night over the Buffalo Sabres. Jaromir Jagr scored the first goal of the game in the first period. It was his 14th of the season and 736th of his NHL career, putting him five behind Brett Hull for third all-time. The goal was his 1831st point, 19 behind third-all time Gordie Howe’s total of 1850. Teammates congratulate Jagr as he skates by the bench Monday night after giving the Panthers a 1-0 lead in their game with Buffalo.
The Panthers hold the longest winning streak in the NHL this season, and their lead over Montreal and Detroit has swelled to five points.

Time for the charts and graphs.
The last 10 games have been a dream for the Florida Panthers. The 10-winning streak plus a full collapse of former division leader Montreal have catapulted the Panthers into first place. Eight of those 10 wins happened without their top scorer of recent years, Nick Bjugstad who is now back as Florida tries to continue their strong play. Jagr had 5 goals and three assists for eight points in the nine games he played during the streak. Such production paces out to 72 points. At the halfway point of the season Jagr is looking at a close to 60-point season if his second-half mirros the first.
The Panthers got a lot of help Tuesday night as Montreal, Boston and Tampa Bay lost their respective games.
The Florida Panthers play the second game of six on the road Thursday night in Ottawa. Then it’s time for pre-game naps as they visit Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary before playing closer to home Mon. Jan. 18 when the host Edmonton at BB&T Center. Tickets for that and all Florida home games available at panthers.nhl.com.
Days off after games mean less viewership but jagrometer.com ran some fun stuff yesterday, including a mullet update with analysis as well as a mullet song from a Pittsburgh radio station. How long can Jaromir grow that hair before the end of the season?

Clad in different Jagr jerseys and hair styles from 68’s career, they gained league-wide recognition when they caught Jagr’s attention during a pre-game skate of a Dallas Stars game in Canada during the 2012-2013 season. Since then, they convene at games in Western Canada and make a road trip or two every year, playing street hockey with locals, posing for hundreds of pictures, and having a good time with fans while honoring an all-time NHL legend.
