BUFFALO–The Florida Panthers hope their six-game winning streak doesn’t go crashing to a halt like a barrel hitting the rocks at nearby Niagra Falls.
Other than the Columbus Blue Jackets and Carolina Hurricanes, the Panthers nine-game winning streak has come at the expense of teams currently holding playoff spots. Five of the six games on the trip are with teams looking up at a playoff position.
Florida is 10-6-2 on the road. After Buffalo tonight the Panthers visit Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary and Tampa Bay, then return to the BB&T Center Jan. 18 to host Edmonton.
The Atlantic Division leading Panthers have a 23-12-4 record and tonight’s game with Buffalo will be their 40th game. Jagrometer.com will have it’s 10-game segment report as part of the recap of tonight’s game.
Monday was a travel day for Florida so there’s not much in the way of news. The Jagr-O-Meter gives you an overview of Jaromir Jagr’s season and milestone pursuits.
#ChasingGordie1850: Jagr now has 1830 career points and is now 20 points of tying Gordie Howe for third all-time, who retired with 1850 points.
#ChasingHull741: With three goals last week Jagr is within six goals of tying Brett Hull for third-all time (741).
There hasn’t been an official mullet report from the team or other media covering the team, so Jagrometer.com is first with this picture and assessment taken as he left the ice for a pre-game skate prior to Sunday’s win over Minnesota.
The Mullet is making progress. While has not gained much length in the last month, just as important is the width, which is wider than previously seen. Perhaps a trim on the ends, vital for good hair growth, has paused the vertical growth. We’ll keep an eye on this and maybe find a way to include it on the Jagr-O-Meter!
In honor of the Mullet, we present the only known song dedicated to it. We shared this a while back. It comes from a radio station in Pittsburgh and is “sung” by Evgeny Malkin. Nice work by Jim Krenn and the 92Q morning crew. (Jagr0meter.com had one of its biggest days ever when this was presented before).
Thanks for checking in today.

Clad in different Jagr jerseys and hair styles from 68’s career, they gained league-wide recognition when they caught Jagr’s attention during a pre-game skate of a Dallas Stars game in Canada during the 2012-2013 season. Since then, they convene at games in Western Canada and make a road trip or two every year, playing street hockey with locals, posing for hundreds of pictures, and having a good time with fans while honoring an all-time NHL legend.
