SUNRISE–The Florida Panthers ended a 0-3-1 slide with a 4-0 over the Chicago Blackhawks Friday night before a sellout at BB&T Center.
The Tampa Bay Lightning (26-17-4-56) come to BB&T Saturday night, two days after beating Chicago 2-1 and ride a 7-game winning streak as they prepare to play the first-place Panthers.
The win by Florida over the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks was buoyed by the return of All-Star defenseman Aaron Ekblad who was one of four goal scorers for the Panthers. Reilly Smith, Quint0n Howden and former Chicago defenseman Brian Campbell also scored for Florida. Goalie Roberto Luongo posted his 72nd career shutout in turning aside 27 Chicago shots as the team blanked the NHL’s third-leading goal producing team.

The win puts the Panthers (27-15-2-59) three points ahead of the Lightning and Detroit in the updated Atlantic Division Standings.
Florida’s leading scorer Jaromir Jagr (15-17-32) has been the team’s leading scorer all season and was held without a point in the Panthers win. Jonahton Huberdeau (7-25-32)tied him for the team lead with his assist on Campbell’s goal.
The Panthers have tonight’s game with the Lightning and host Toronto Tuesday before the All Star Break. Tickets for these and all Florida Panthers home games can be purchased through http://www.panthers.nhl.com.
