TORONTO–The Florida Panthers built a 3-0 lead then had to scramble to protect the victory in a 4-3 win Monday over Toronto.
Two Panthers goals were scored by Rocco Grimaldi, who was also joined on the scoresheet by Nick Bjugstad and Aleksander Barkov. Reilly Smith added two assists to give him 49 points and with one more will become the sixth Panther to reach 50 points to join Jaromir Jagr, Jussi Jokinen, Aleksander Barkov, Jonathon Huberdeau and Vincent Trocheck.
Dallas, Boston, Nashville and Colorado also have five-50+ point scorers and Smith would make the Panthers the only team with 6.
For Toronto, Colin Greening scored two goals and TJ Brennan one.
Highlights and a detailed wrap up of the game from NHL.com can be seen here.

The Panthers play at Montreal tonight while Tampa Bay host the New York Rangers. A win by Florida and the Rangers would result in the Panthers clinching the Atlantic Division. Both teams have three games remaining between today and Saturday.
No points for Jaromir Jagr Monday, but he was in front of the net trying to play the puck when Barkov scored his-team leading 27th goal in the scramble. The +1 for the game raised him to +20 this season and +27 as a Panther. All season long the baton of Panthers lead goal scorer has changed hands between Jagr, Barkov, Reilly Smith and Vincent Trocheck. Every time Jagr has scored to even things that game or the next. Three games remain to determine the Panthers goal scoring leader for this season.
