ANAHEIM–The Florida Panthers topped Anaheim 4-1 Friday night for their third win in three tries on their five game road trip and have pulled within one point of Toronto for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference of the NHL.

James Reimer stopped 35 of 36 shots and Colton Sceviour, Jaromir Jagr, Aaron Ekblad scored for Florida while Derek MacKenzie’s short handed empty net goal  was the cherry on top of a delicious win.

Jagr’s 760th career goal proved to be the game winner, as the NHL’s all time leader with 135 game winning goals put on moves like he did in the 90s after stealing the puck from the Anaheim defenseman. It will be easier to watch the clip (from nhl.com) rather than to continue to describe it.

While his young linemates Aleksander Barkov and Jonathon Huberdea were held without points, the trio gave Ducks defensemen fits and kept the Panthers in the attacking zone most of their shifts.

The Panthers go for their third straight West Coast win as the visit the Los Angeles Kings tonight at 10 pm Eastern on Fox Sports Florida and nhl.tv with Steve Goldstein calling the action. After tonight the Panthers play in St. Louis Monday night to complete the five game road trip. Last night’s win clinched a winning record on the five-game trip.
