EDMONTON–Connor McDavid scored early with three seconds remaining in overtime as Edmonton topped Florida Wednesday night at the sparkling new Rogers Center.
The Panthers erased a 2-0 deficit and took a short-lived lead in the third period when Craig McKegg tipped a Jaromir Jagr pass through the legs of the Oilers netminder.
It was Jagr’s 1896th point and 1139th career assist for the NHL’s second all-time leading scorer who played a game in his 64th NHL venue, extending his league record.
